5.7 is different, they had serious coolant leak into engine issues, but those with 5.3 are not having issues with coolant leaking into the engine via intake because this cannot happen! The cooling system pressure has been tested and it was found ok (15psi).

It can work with a stock hood with some modifications. Unless your throttle body was majorly cracked or in some other way very damaged there is no chance of coolant leaking into your intake. 10 plus hours of labor if you go the shop route.
